Next on the docket for the Senior Spotlight is Grace E. Mear. Grace, who has made a name for herself as a South Lewis songbird and musician, hopes to one day be well known in legal circles also. Grace has been accepted into Champlain College's Law Program and intends to lend her voice as a prosecuting attorney in the courtroom. In addition to being a member of the National Honor Society and a South Lewis Scholar, Grace is an athlete who has played soccer, softball, and volleyball. Grace, we have no objections to your future plan. It is in your court now!

Stepping into the Senior Spotlight this morning is Ethan G. Youngs. Ethan fits the role as "the strong and silent type": he is kind, quiet, quick with a smile, and always ready to lend a helping hand. Ethan is a well-rounded student whose interests vary from art to economics, from science to physical fitness . This year, Ethan was named a South Lewis Lions Scholar and plans to attend college next year. Ethan has been accepted by Mohawk Community College and Utica College. Congratulations, Ethan! We applaud you for remaining South Lewis Strong!

Smile, Lauren M. McGuire, you are next in the Class of 2021 Spotlight! Lauren, a South Lewis Lions Scholar and a National Honor Society Member, is college bound and has received acceptance to SUNY Broome and SUNY Jefferson. In her high school years, Lauren has played soccer, been a vital member of the Falcon volleyball program, was a part of the track & field team, and, this year, participated in the varsity ski and golf programs. With her sunny disposition Lauren can easily put a smile on your face, and, we are in luck, her future plans include brightening smiles for a living as a dental hygienist. Way to keep the world shiny and bright, Lauren.

It's that time of year when we spotlight the South Lewis Seniors and their achievements. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!
First up is Ian W. Anderson. Ian, a South Lewis Lions Scholar, is ready to take his show on the road to SUNY Brockport, which is the perfect venue to show off his all-round athletic abilities. Throughout high school, Ian has been a Falcon football player, and, when that wasn't an option in the fall 2020 season, Ian became a Falcon "futbol" player on the varsity soccer team. On the varsity baseball team, Ian has been a pitcher for the past four years; and, as a member of the varsity basketball team, Ian scored 1008 career points. Great work, Ian. Thanks for sharing your love of the game -- any game -- and for showing true Falcon spirit!

A great night for South Lewis CSD! Budget passed 221-80. Buses passed 225-72.
Congratulations to Jessica Carpenter (239 votes) and Blake Place (127 votes) who were elected to the Board of Education.
