Today we wrapped up the One District, One Book Program at the elementary schools! Students got to meet Mr. & Mrs. VanRiper, author and illustrator of The Adirondack Kids books. We thank all of our students, educators, and families for their participation in this program!

Mr. Scott Cihocki visited the Glenfield LEGO League on Monday. He showed them practical use for legos, talked about making durable buildings, inventing, and thinking outside the box. The kids took apart and built part of building forms.

Wednesday night was Senior Night for the Falcon volleyball team. JV Coach McCall and Varsity Coach Gino, shown here twinning, are a part of the team responsible for the success of this year's two seniors, Brooklyn Sullivan and Izabelle Liendecker. Thanks, also to Coach Lemieux!

Earlier this week one of the high school Falcon Friends groups visited with children at the Port Leyden elementary school. Here the Littles and Bigs show of their smiles. Great job, Counseling Department, for putting together these important connections for all of our students.

Miss Fitzgerald’s 5th grade science classes counted area on maps to discover that most of earth’s water is salt water (97%), and only 3% is fresh water (frozen and fresh).
Mr. and Mrs. Van Riper dropped by Port Leyden Elementary as well to spend time with our 3rd and 4th graders to discuss reading and writing and their series of The Adirondack Kids books.
Gary and Carol VanRiper, author and illustrator of The Adirondack Kids books, spent some time talking with our 4th graders this morning! Their message to us is to keep reading and get active outside!

The South Lewis Robo Falcons advanced from their qualifying round on 1-12-2020 to the championship at SUNY Polytechnic on 1-18-2020. Also, Warren Covey was presented with the Coach/Mentor award for helping out with the LEGO team. Great job team!
