Pictures of our students from our Quarterly Awards Ceremony

These two delightful educators, Emily Burke (in red) and Ashley Schneider (in black), are recent recipients of the high school's Thoughtful Thursday Award. Mrs. Burke leads her English students through texts and prose like a pro, while Mrs. Schneider waves a wand of wonder as a math-magician!

We hope all had a wonderful Spring Recess! A reminder that school resumes tomorrow- Tuesday 4/23. We look forward to seeing everyone!

What's better than a morning run? A WARM morning run. Enjoying the mild Florida weather, this group of SL Track & Field athletes didn't take a break during spring break. While in Orlando, Coach Durgan met these dedicated (and sleepy) runners at 6 a.m. to train with them. WOW!

On April 5th, Mrs. Gronowski and Mr. McCall traveled with students selected to perform in the Bi-County Concert held at Indian River Central School. Congratulations to the middle school vocalists and to the high school instrumentalists who were among the county's musical elite.

Where in the world are our South Lewis musicians today? Right now this troupe of high school band members is returning from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, where they rocked the CityWalk Lagoon Stage. Thank you, Mr. McCall, for orchestrating this spring break experience.

This amazing group of talented seniors, who attended the NHS banquet on Thursday night, also recently raised funds for the South Lewis Backpack Program. The program provides nutritious food for area families in difficult financial situations. Call Kathie Watson to donate today.

Congratulations to this amazing group of talented seniors who attended the National Honor Society recognition banquet tonight. Much to be proud of!!!!

Friendly Reminder: Spring Recess begins tomorrow - Friday 4/12. School resumes on Tuesday 4/23. Have a safe and fun break!

And finally, NHS Blast from the Past! Check out this groovy group from 1972. According to the 1972 yearbook, NHS membership was "dependent on a student's character, scholarship, leadership, and service." The faces may have changed over the years, but the purpose remains the same.

More NHS news: in the South Lewis Middle School, the National Junior Honor Society recently started the Falcon Food Locker program to nourish students after school and before sports practice. Thanks to Senorita Davidson and the NJHS students for organizing this important service.

Yesterday the SL National Honor Society organized a Blood Drive for the American Red Cross. These honorable members, Jaquelyn Skorupa and Elizabeth McGuire, cheerfully greet the donors while Mr. Gibson awaits his turn to break the land speed record for blood donation.

Mrs. Schaefer’s third grade class was a winning class in NBC of Watertown’s Kindness Challenge! Thank you NBC for the yummy doughnuts and Wild Park tickets!

Several MS students competed in the Catapult competition at the Tech Showcase at SUNY IT today. Congratulations to Wyatt Staring on his first place finish!
