Due to weather conditions today, Friday December 16, 2022, South Lewis CSD is on a 2-hour delay. There will be no AM UPK or AM BOCES.
The books are in! Battle of the Books for 5th and 6th grade has begun! 5th and 6th grade ELA teachers each selected four students for our South Lewis teams. Students read books and come together, in teams, to demonstrate their abilities and to test their knowledge of the books they have read. They will compete for a South Lewis champion and that champion team will move on to compete in the North Country Library System Regional Battle of the Books in May.
The RoboFalcons are gearing up for the First Tech Challenge Qualifying Tournament at Penfield High School on December 17th! The team has been working hard on their build, reviewing rules and requirements, and prepping for all the judges. Good luck RoboFalcons!
Congratulations to Olivia Brown and Adam Mear who are the South Lewis High School Students of the Month for November. Olivia and Adam are both members of the Class of 2023, and we anticipate that each will move on from here to light up the world in their own unique ways. Currently, Adam is a student in the BOCES Electrical Program, and he's charging up for a future that is full of promise. As a student in the Cosmetology program at BOCES, Olivia plans to brighten up the universe by highlighting the potential beauty of those around her. We are so proud of these two Falcon students, and we thank them for the spark they add to our lives.

We tried and loved pumpkin lasagna, pumpkin wings, pumpkin cookies, muffins, pizza and so much more! South Lewis really ate up the pumpkin creativity!

The South Lewis cross country team was well represented at the NY State Championships this past Saturday. MacCoy Maciejko and the girl's team competed in the class D race. The returning state champion Brynn Bernard, won her 2nd state title by running 19:20.4. The falcons placed 3rd overall with 97 points. We are proud to announce the South Lewis High School Students of the Month for October. Congratulations to Aiden Billhardt and Ashley Wright! Both of these outstanding students are Class of 2023 members who are already prepping for the future with some college acceptances . Aiden is a member of Falcon Friends, FFA, NHS, SAVE, and Varsity Club and also makes to play football, basketball, and baseball. In addition to being a member of Future Educators Club, FFA, NHS, GAA, and Conspiracy Club, Ashley is a part of the soccer and volleyball teams. Both students exemplify great character and positively interact with the South Lewis community and the world at large. Great work, young people.
Pumpkin is on the menu! The NYS Farm-to-School program is really starting to take root thanks to the efforts of the legen-dairy South Lewis Farm-to-School Team. From meals to curriculum this team really is the cream of the crop! (See attached to find out me more)
